We ask.. we receive October 20, 2009

• I think when we ask the Lord to give us patience, He gives us the OPPORTUNITY to be patient again.
• When we ask the Lord to give us strength, He gives us an OPPORTUNITY to be strong.
• When we ask the Lord for wisdom, He gives us another OPPORTUNITY to choose the right path.
• When we ask the Lord for boldness, He gives us the OPPORTUNITY to step outside our comfort zone.
• When we ask the Lord for faith, He gives us the OPPORTUNITY to jump.
• When we ask the Lord for peace, He gives us the OPPORTUNITY to rest in Him.
• When we ask for guidance, He gives us an OPPORTUNITY to walk through another open door.

Our daddy is in love with us. He will come through for us.

We are the apple of our Father’s eye. ‘In a most watchful and tender manner: the apple of the eye is the aperture in it, which lets in rays of light into the retina where the images of things are formed. The LORD says that he cares for us as we guard the pupil of the eye.’

I sense the Lord doing something big in my heart, in our church, and in this city. The Hinge is coming up (August 29th).  I am expecting the Holy Spirit to blow His mighty wind on our city and in the downtown area of Greenville.  Many of you have been fasting and going to the Lord to interceed for this city’s healing and revival. I am ready and I anticipate what the Lord is stirring in the hearts of His children.

I am CONSTANTLY having to remind myself of who I am in Christ…

 

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will- to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves. In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgivenes of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that he lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding. And he made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ, to be put into effect when the times will have reached their fulfillment- to bring all things in heaven and on earth together under one head, even Christ.

Make the Most of What God Gives March 24, 2009

After looking at the way things are on this earth, here’s what I’ve decided is the best way to live: Take care of yourself, have a good time, and make the most of whatever job you have for as long as God gives you life. And that’s about it. That’s the human lot. Yes, we should make the most of what God gives, both the bounty and the capacity to enjoy it, accepting what’s given and delighting in the work. It’s God’s gift! God deals out joy in the present, the now. It’s useless to brood over how long we might live.
